Brigadier General Gabor Horvath, Director of Training Directorate J7 at the Hungarian Defence Forces Command, visited the Joint Force Training Centre (JFTC) on 22 October. He met with Brigadier General Jozsef Szpisjak, JFTC Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff, and Centre’s Modelling & Simulation experts.

General Horvath was especially interested in JFTC’s expertise in the area of warfare development and innovations. He visited the Centre’s Battle Laboratory and explored possibilities of future cooperation between JFTC and Hungarian Defence Forces under the Bi-Strategic Command’s concept. Discussions focused on how JFTC could advise and mentor Hungarian Defence Forces in enhancing interoperability through better use of technology, shared resources and cross coordination. 

General Horvath also received a comprehensive overview of how JFTC supported the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation in the area of NATO warfare development, and how the Centre contributed to the development and strengthening of national training integration. Discussions also centered on the situation and future plans of Hungarian Defence Forces with regard to military training.

“Many thanks for the useful and professionally rewarding visit” – General Horvath stated, addressing the JFTC Deputy Commander and his staff. “Our discussions with JFTC leaders and experts have helped a lot to shape our future training endeavours within the Hungarian Defence Forces.”

The meeting at JFTC opened a communication line between the Centre and Hungarian Defence Forces. It has paved the way for further discussions on mutual support and cooperation in modernising military training and improving interoperability.
