The Polish Television (TVP) explored the Joint Force Training Centre (JFTC) and the Coalition Warrior Interoperability eXploration, eXperimentation, eXamination, eXercise (CWIX) 2016 area. On 16 June the JFTC key personnel, including Brigadier General Laszlo Szabo, the Centre’s Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff, as well as Commander Holger Grossmann, the CWIX Director, and several participants of the exercise met with the TVP crew to introduce them to the Bydgoszcz NATO training centre and to the NATO biggest annual interoperability testing event.
The TVP video shooting at the JFTC was related to the Great Test on Knowledge about NATO that will be broadcast on Polish TV on 27 June.
The TVP Great Tests have been broadcast for 7 years. The TVP Channel 1 has prepared more than 30 editions of the project so far, including “The Great History Test”, “The Great Test on Knowledge about Economy” and others. Approximately 20 pairs, consisting of well-known personalities, take part in these TV productions answering questions related to the main topic of the test. Last year “The Great Test on Knowledge about Polish Armed Forces” was held. The idea of implementing NATO as the main topic of the next edition is related to the fact that in July Poland will for a moment become a NATO capital because Warsaw will host the NATO Summit.
The crew arrived in Bydgoszcz to prepare footage about the “heart of NATO in Poland”. As the vast majority of NATO and affiliated units in Poland are based in Bydgoszcz, throughout years the city has become the centre of gravity of the Alliance in this country. The JFTC is the oldest of the units and at the same time - the best showcase of NATO institutions in Poland. In addition to that, the visit at the JFTC was a perfect opportunity to introduce Polish viewers to the largest exercise held at the JFTC that gathered close to a thousand participants representing more than 20 nations and various NATO agencies (for more information about CWIX 2016 click here).
The main goal of “The Great Test on Knowledge about NATO” is to present the nowadays Polish Armed Forces with emphasis on their current capabilities within NATO, and to demonstrate how Polish soldiers are seen by their counterparts from other Allied nations. The TV program will be supplemented with short videos presenting institutions, people, their stories and the most important facts related to the topic of the test.
